报告摘要:
The revolutions in sharing, automation, and electrification are transforming how we travel, significantlyimpacting future mobility management. While uncertainties remain about theprecise effects of these disruptive technologies on travel demand andtransportation supply, it is evident that innovative demand management is ascrucial as advancements in supply technology for addressing escalating trafficissues in major cities. In this talk, I will explore the opportunities andchallenges of travel demand management in the context of smart transportation.I will present innovative strategies for managing travel demand, including atradable travel credit scheme to alleviate road congestion, revenue-preservingand Pareto-improving approaches for managing peak-hour transit demand, and anovel reward scheme that integrates surge pricing in ride-sourcing markets.
