报告主要内容：
In this talk, I will briefly introduce the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Virginia and the Information and Communications Engineering at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology.
Then, I will present several recent research efforts in the connected vehicle technology applications that aim at improving mobility, safety and sustainability of the transportation system. In particular, I will discuss
(i) an overview of connected vehicle technology in the US and its focused areas including dynamic mobility applications (DMA) and applications for the environment: real-time information synthesis (AERIS)
(ii) an overview of dedicated short range communications (DSRC) standard and a research on the calibration of wireless communications simulator, and
(iii) specific connected vehicle applications including freeway merge assistance and cooperative vehicle intersection control algorithms and their impacts on mobility, safety and sustainability.
