讲座内容：

The field of pavement engineering has witnessed major advances during the past fifty years. Many of these advances were made possible through our better understanding of pavement materials and their performance characteristics, as well as new construction methodologies. The advancement of computer technology has revolutionized the field of pavement engineering. High speed electronics have made laboratory and field measurements very convenient; however, transformation of these data into effective and well calibrated pavement performance models lags behind. The innovations in pavement construction have been focused on improving construction safety, productivity, and quality. Pavement performance measurement is another area that has seen a major shift to automation. The focus has been on automation of pavement condition surveys at highway speed.

This seminar presents key advances in pavement construction and performance evaluation practices as well as opportunities for future research. The following topics will be covered in this seminar:

1. Quality Control / Quality Assurance and Payment Issues.

2. Warm Mix Asphalt Technologies and Construction Practices.

3. Pervious Concrete and Porous Asphalt Pavements.

4. Asphalt Pavement Recycling with Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP).

5. Pavement Performance Evaluation Technologies.

6. Construction Maintenance and Work Zone Safety Issues.

The audience is invited to participate in a question and answer session after the presentation.

主讲人简介：

Kamyar C. Mahboub教授是Univerisity of Kentucky的研究生部主任。Mahboub教授与Yang X. Huang教授合作编著的“Pavement Analysis and Design（Third Edition）”是美国大学土木工程专业本科与研究生的通用教材。此外，还编著有“Pavement Design, Construction and Management”,“Asphalt Mixture Design: Past, Present and Future”等书。Mahboub教授研究领域主要有：路面材料，结构设计，路面施工与养护管理等，发表论文80余篇,研究经费超过200万美金。曾获得美国土木工程师协会沥青材料委员会杰出主席奖，美国土木工程师协会杰出教育奖，被肯塔基州长Paul E. Patton授予肯塔基州杰出人才奖。
