主要从事建筑固废资源化利用与结构耐火研究及工程实践,具体涉及钢筋混凝土结构、钢-混凝土组合结构、预制装配式结构、加固改造结构等。

先后主持国家自然科学基金项目10项(杰青项目1项/重点项目2项/面上类项目7项)、国家973计划课题1项、国家重点研发计划课题2项。

以第一或通讯作者,发表国际/国内期刊论文220篇,出版专著2部。

以第一发明人,授权专利38件(美国专利6件/中国发明专利32件)。

主编住建部行业标准1部、广东省地方标准2部、CECS标准1部。

以第一获奖人,荣获国家科技进步二等奖2项。

主持了我国摩擦消能器的首例减震加固工程应用,实现了建筑结构采用再生块体混凝土的首例工程应用,以及实际工程中预制装配式再生块体混凝土构件和再生块体-骨料混凝土构件的首次应用。
