报告摘要:

Smart antenna is the key technology for broadband mobile communications (4G/5G), satellite communications, radar and future Internet of Things. It can achieve electronically beam steering towards desired directions while forming nulls towards interferences. Traditional smart antennas are, however, complicated, bulky, power hungry and expensive, which limited their applications to military and defence systems. For commercial applications, it is important to investigate novel smart antennas having small size, low power consumption and low fabrication cost. This talk will introduce some low-cost smart antennas for potential applications in terrestrial mobile communications and satellite communications. These include S-band small-size low-power smart antennas for mobile terminals in terrestrial wireless communications, and Ku and Ka-band smart antennas for satellite communications on the move, etc. A conclusion will be given in the end.
