Professor Mackay is the originator and advocate of the “Nutrition-Gut Microbiome- Physiology Axis” theory, and he first reported the immune regulatory function and mechanism of short-chain fatty acids, the intestinal microbiota metabolites of dietary fiber, providing the first evidence that intestinal microbiota metabolites can directly affect human health in NATURE in 2009. He has many papers published in top academic journals, including 1 paper in NEW ENGL J MED, 20 papers in Nature series, 2 papers in Science, 2 papers in Cell, with 72000 citations, H index 122 (Google scholar); Highly cited scientist in the field of immunology of Clarivate (2017-2023).
