Overview

The School of Business Administration (SBA) at the South China University of Technology (SCUT) was established in 1982 as the Department of Management Engineering (DME). Since its establishment, the DME was appointed by the Guangdong Provincial Government as a specialized institution for training entrepreneurs and managerial staff for state-owned enterprises. Through tailor-made programs, the DME cultivated a large number of entrepreneurs, government officials and executives for Guangdong Province.

In 1992, the School of Business Administration was founded on the basis of the DME and the Industrial Economy Teaching and Research Section of SCUT’s Department of Social Science. By giving full play to its academic and geographic advantages, SBA has developed a complete educational system, offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs, as well as MBA, EMBA, MEM and MPAcc programs. With its two major disciplines -Management Science and Engineering, and Business Administration- gaining national renown, the School has established its position as a leader in management education in South China.
