报告摘要:Simple organic subcomponents can cometogether around metal-ion templates to produce intricate hollow capsules. Thistalk will describe the design and uses of some of these three-dimensionalarchitectures, along with the use of the same construction principles toproduce interlocked structures–catenanes and knots–and double-helical metallopolymers with potentially usefuloptoelectronic properties.

报告人简介:

Professor Jonathan Nitschke received his BSdegree from Williams College (USA) in 1995 and his doctorate from theUniversity of California, Berkeley in 2001. He then undertook postdoctoralstudies with Jean-Marie Lehn in Strasbourg with a US NSF fellowship, and in2003 he started his independent research career as a PI in the OrganicChemistry Department of the University of Geneva. In 2007 he was appointedUniversity Lecturer at Cambridge, where he now holds a Professorship. Hisresearch program investigates the self-assembly of complex, functionalstructures from simple molecular precursors and metal ions. He has publishedmore than 220 SCI papers, including Nature, Science, Nature Chemistry, NatureSynthesis, etc, his H-index is 74. He was elected Fellow of the EuropeanAcademy of Sciences, the Chinese Chemical Society Honorary Fellow, and receivedthe Izatt-Christensen Award, CLP prize etc.
