Sehoon Park was born in Seoul (Korea). He received his Ph.D. (2008) from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Prof. Kohtaro Osakada). He then moved to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to work as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Maurice Brookhart (2009-2012). From April 2013 to February 2019, he worked at Institute for Basic Science (Korea) as a senior research fellow with Prof. Sukbok Chang. In early 2019, he joined Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) as an assistant professor and became an associate professor in 2022. His research interests are synthetic and mechanistic organometallic chemistry particularly involved in catalysis.
报告摘要:
In the first part of my talk, we briefly introduce the motivation and background of dearomative functionalizations of N-heteroarenes.1 Next, we will present our previous work − transition metal-catalysed double hydroboration of quinolines and pyridines.2-4 In the second part, we will discuss about our recent discovery − tandem triple hydroelementation of pyridines via the ligand-controlled regiodivergent double hydroboration, followed by hydroelementation (E = H, B, Si, P) reaction, to provide multiply functionalized piperidines in one-pot with high selectivity and strong molecular diversity.5 Our research program represents the first examples of metal-catalysed double and triple hydroelementation (E = B, Si, P, etc.) reactions of pyridines.
