Last year, more than 21 800 learners from 140 countries discovered the IFP MOOC “Oil & Gas: from exploration to production” supported by Total. Given  such  success, Total has decided to support a second edition of this innovative free on-line course in 2016.

What content?

The main topics of the MOOC are: the Worldwide energy scene, Exploration & Production (oil formation, reservoirs, exploration, discoveries evaluation, drilling, production…), Refining & Petrochemicals (economic context, techniques, products, specifications, interactions, Gas) , Distribution and Logistics (different products, uses, storage, consumption / Natural Gas (logistics and consumption). The course is in English , sub-titled in French. This year, learners will benefit from some innovations: the presence of tutors online to support learners throughout  the MOOC, creation of surprise challenges and a new final evaluation to win  a virtual “ Advanced Oil & Gas MOOC” badge!

For whom?

This high quality online course is free and open to all for 4 weeks, on the web at any hour of the day! In the present complex oil & gas context, it is all the more useful to offer the keys to better understand our industry. In addition to promoting the MOOC within your Partner-universities as you did last year, you can also promote the MOOC widely to all your stakeholders including suppliers, customers, authorities… as well as your staff. The MOOC is accessible to anyone with a minimum “ university entrance” level even in non scientific subjects; it should take max 3h a week. A free certificate will be delivered to successful learners.

Note:Minimum technical requirement is a computer having a modern browser (like Internet Explorer 10 at least or Chrome 40, Safari 7, Flash 15 or 16 to watch the videos…)…and  access to YouTube video streaming.
