It is crucial to understand the fundamental mechanisms of radiation damage to further improve their irradiation resistance and predict their behaviour under irradiation. For this purpose, model materials have been widely used to conduct comprehensive studies on radiation damage. Beginning with an introduction to Dr. Ma, this talk will be two-fold on his research in radiation damage, including (i) mechanistic studies in dislocation loop evolution and segregation in fcc model alloys and (ii) development of novel model bcc-superalloys with the evaluation of their radiation behaviour.
报告人简介:
Dr. Kan Ma finished his Ph.D. in 2021 at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) & amp; PSL Research University in Paris, France. He is now an early-career research fellow at the School of Metallurgy and Materials at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He is an expert in the characterization of radiation damage using TEM. Recent research focuses on the development of novel alloys for extreme environments, including fusion & fission and concentrated solar power, in pursuit of understanding their property-structure relation.
