报告摘要:
Single crystals not only allow for access to the intrinsic properties of materials to a much higher extent compared to polycrystals and directly reflect the anisotropy of these properties, but also have found increasing applications in modern technology in recent decades. Here I will demonstrate the advantages of high-quality single crystal using three examples. One is the silicon carbide single crystal growth started from scratch and the novel properties of silicon carbide unraveled based on the high-quality crystal. The second is the discovery of high-temperature superconducting family AxFe2Se2 (A = K, Li, Na, Ca, Sr, Ba, Eu, and Yb). The final one is the ultrabroadband photoresponse of Weyl semimetal TaAs at room temperature.


报告人简介:
   中国科学院物理研究所研究员,博导,2001年和2004年于兰州大学分别获得学士和硕士学位,2007年在中科院物理所获得博士学位。博士毕业后分别在瑞典和美国做博士后,2009年回到中科院物理所工作,2016-2017年曾在美国Ames实验室访问。主要从事无机电磁功能材料探索、晶体生长与物性研究,在碳化硅晶体生长与物性、新超导体探索和拓扑半金属物性等方面取得了多项创新性成果,在PRL、JACS、AM等学术期刊发表SCI论文71篇。2013年获得国家自然科学基金委优秀青年科学基金支持。
