(1)Eduardo Ruiz-Hitzky教授
Professor Ruiz-Hitzky received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Complutense University of Madrid in 1979. He is since 1988 a research professor scientist at the National Research Council of Spain, being currently the Head of the Hybrid, Biohybrid and Porous Nanostructured Materials team at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM), CSIC. Since 1987 he has been Founder and First Director of several Departments at the CSIC including “New Architectures in Materials Chemistry Department” in 2010.
Professor Ruiz-Hitzky served as a member of the Direction Committee of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) since 1989, Vice-President and President of the Spanish Clay Society (2002-2010). He is Editor-in-Chief of Recent Patents in Nanotechnology and Associated Editor of Current Nanoscience.
He was awarded the Belgian Royal Academy of sciences STAS Prize. He is a recipient of the Association of Chemistry BRUYLANTS Prize by Katholic University of Leuven, the ICIDCA award of The Ministry of Sugar, Cuba, the AIPEA medal in 2005, College of France the Guillaume Bud Medal and various Distinctions of the National Research Council of Spain.
He has more than 200 refereed publications on Nature, Prog. Polym. Sci., Chem. Soc. Rev., Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc., etc. The h-index is 40. He also has more than 20 patents on the research of nanostructured functional materials; Hybrid, Biohybrid, intercalation compounds and nanocomposites; layered and porous inorganic solids.
(2)Pilar Aranda博士
Dr. Pilar Aranda received her Ph.D. degree in the Materials Science Institute of Madrid in 1991. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Colorado State University before joining the Carlos III University in Madrid as Assistant Professor. She is since 1998 a research scientist at the Materials Science Institute of the National Research Council of Spain.
Dr. Pilar Aranda participated in the organization of various national and international meetings, serving as General Secretary of the 2010 Trilateral Meeting on Clays organized by the Spanish Clay Society (SEA), the Clays Science Society of Japan (CSSJ) and the Clay Minerals Society (CMS), the Directive Council of the SEA (2002-2010) and the Liaison Officer at the AIPEA (2004-2010). She is currently Co-Editor-in-Chief of Recent Patents in Nanotechnology and member of the Editorial Board of Clay Minerals and Applied Clays Science journals.
She has participated in more than 40 research projects funded by public and private funds, has more than 130 publications as articles, book chapters and monographs and has 8 registered patents. Her scientific achievement can be seen on journals such as Prog. Polym. Sci., Chem. Soc. Rev., Adv. Mater., Chem. Mater., etc.
