Tens of artistic shows and works created by SCUT’s students were spotlighted on the 5th Guangdong Art Show for College Students, setting the best record in SCUT’s history of participating the event.
The art gala was organized by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, and was this year hosted by SCUT at the University Town Campus from November 11 to 17.
Taking “ideal and belief” as this year’s theme, it attracted student teams from nearly 100 universities and colleges in Guangdong province to exhibit or perform their works of art, and compete for prizes in various categories.
After a week of races, students of SCUT collected 34 prizes in four categories including performing arts, art education research, visual arts, and art workshops. Three works were awarded First Prizes for Best Performing Arts, as other 10 received First Prizes for Best Visual Arts.
SCUT’s number of prizes was the highest among all universities and colleges in Guangdong province. It marked an impressive progress that SCUT has achieved in developing art education over a long period of years.
