In order to improve the construction of tourism and hospitality discipline and enhance the international academic communication, on November 10, SEC launched the lecture 52 of Academic Forum in Room 202, south wing of B10 Building in University Town Campus. Dr. Songshan (Sam) HUANG, associate professor of School of Business, University of South Australia was invited as the honorable lecturer. Prof. JIANG Jinbo, associated dean of SEC, hosted the lecture. More than 100 faculty and students attended the lecture.
The lecture entitled as “Research Method Overview in Tourism and Hospitality Management”, focused on concrete types of qualitative research and quantitative research, analyzing the relation between research topic selection and research method. In the Q&A section, Dr. HUANG answered questions, such as the research condition difference between domestic and overseas, the future development in the field of exhibition and tourism patiently.
After the lecture, Dr. HUANG attended a discussion seminar with faculty in SEC, proposing suggestions on the academic promotion, talent training and teaching staff construction.
Dr. Songshan (Sam) HUANG, associate professor (tenure) of The University of South Australia, doctoral supervisor, Research Education portfolio Leader of Business Management School, The University of South Australia. Dr. HUANG got his Ph.D. degree in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, master degree in Beijing Normal University, bachelor degree in Henan University.
Dr. HUANG has published more than 50 international academics papers in English version, three English academic works and dozens of international conference proceeding papers and book chapters. More than half of his papers were published in international high level journals, such as: Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, International Journal of hospitality Management, International Journal of Tourism Research, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly.
