On November 17, Hong Kong Stock Exchange launched High-quality Course on Frontier Trends of International Capital Market in Concert Hall, University Town Campus. More than 300 faculty, alumni and students from School of Economics and Commerce took the course. Prof. WANG Renzeng, executive dean of SEC, hosted the lecture.
In the opening ceremony, Prof. WU Yechun, assistant to the president of SCUT, delivered a warm welcome speech and expressed gratitude to the delegation of HKSE on behalf of SCUT. He hoped that all attenders could learn more on the frontier trends of international capital market from the course and expected that the course could enhance the talent training in School of Economics and Commerce. Prof. BA Shusong, chief economist on China economy of HKSE, chief economist of China Banking Association, adjunct professor of SEC, introduced the profound meaning of the course, hoping the attenders could understand the macro-economic policy decisions and financial agency, enterprise and personal investment decisions better via the course by video.
Prof. BA Shusong, Ms. LIU Dongyun, Guangzhou special representative of HKSE, Ms. CHEN Yushan, vice president of Marketing Development Department of HKSE, and Mr. WANG Longhai, associate vice president of Marketing Development Department of HKSE, gave lectures respectively on four parts: Introduction to Exchange Stock, Corporate Finance and Overseas Listing, Products Portfolio in International Capital Market, and Introduction to the International Futures and Non-ferrous Metal Market. On the one-day course, attenders communicated positively with lecturers and benefited a lot from the course.
The course promoted students’ understanding of offshore financial market and broadened their horizon on the field of finance. At the end of the course, more than 200 attenders were conferred the course certificate. (Translated and Edited by HUANG Xiaoting)
