On September 29, the engage ceremony of GU Qingyang as an adjunct professor in SEC and academic report were held in B10 building, University Town Campus. More than 100 students and faculty attended the ceremony and report. Professor WU Yechun, assistant to the president of SCUT and party secretary of SEC, on behalf of SCUT, conferred the appointment certificate to GU Qingyang, associate professor of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore University. In the ceremony, Professor WU introduced GU’s personal resume and academic achievements, hoping that GU’s join could promote the communication and exchange between South China University of Technology and Singapore University.
After the ceremony, Professor GU gave an academic report on Temasek model and China’s SOE reform. GU pointed out that, due to the operation of Singapore’s state-owned property obeyed strictly the market principles, Singapore made the value of state-owned property sustainably added and benefited the relationship among nation, government, joint investors and people as a whole. In the report, Professor GU also analyzed the certain significance for China’s SOE reform. In the Q&A section, attenders proposed their questions and GU responded with patience.
