SEC Discipline Assessment for New Majors Ends with Success

On Oct. 17, School of Economics and Commerce received a delegation of discipline assessment for new majors. Professor Yuan Wei, the former executive associate president of Renmin University of China, Professor Lan Yisheng from Shanghai University of Economics and Commerce, Professor Chu Xiaoping from Sun Yat-Sen University, Professor Zhang Mingxing and Professor Chen Li from South China University of Technology were in the assessment group for Economics major. Professor Quan Hua, dean of School of Exhibition and Tourism, Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, Professor Lou Jiajun from East China Normal University, associate Professor Xu Zhongwei from Beijing International Studies University, Professor Caimin and Professor Wang Xiujun from South China University of Technology assessed the exhibition major.

 
Professor Jiang Jinbo, deputy dean of SEC, hosted the assessment conference. Professor Wang Renzeng, executive dean of SEC, gave a welcome speech. Experts group operated the assessment by checking the assessment materials, listening to the discipline construction report, inspecting the library and teaching practice base, accessing the text papers and lab report, and communicating with faculty and student of two majors.   
 
Experts group highly praised the fruits that SEC had achieved in recent years and proposed constructive suggestions. The assessment would benefit two majors’ development in the future and have a positive impact on undergraduate teaching assessment of SCUT. (Translatedand and Edited by HUANG Xiaoting)
