The Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility of SCUT (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) is established in December of 2020. Taking the advantages and resources of the School of Business Administration of SCUT in teaching and research, the Center actively carries out basic and applied research activities related to corporate social responsibility and business ethics.
The Center is led by Prof. CHAO Gang from the School of Business Administration of SCUT, who is currently serving as the Secretary General of Guangdong Social Responsibility Research Center, xecutive Director of Chinese Enterprise Management Ethics Forum. The Center currently has 8 researchers including one professor, two associate professors, one assistant professors and four doctoral students.
The researchers of the center have been paying close attention to research topics related to corporate social responsibility and business ethics for a long time, using standardized research methods to carry out a series of research on related topics and have achieved rich outcomes. In recent years, members of the Center have undertaken 4 national-level scientific research projects and published more than 30 important papers.
The goal of the Center is to take root in management practice in South China and become a platform with significant influence in the field of corporate social responsibility and business ethics. The basic tasks of the Center are: 1. to promote theoretical innovation in the field of corporate social responsibility and business ethics; 2. to promote the practical development of corporate social responsibility.
Introduction of the PI in charge of the Center:
Professor CHAO Gang, the doctoral supervisor of the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology, is currently the Secretary General of Guangdong Social Responsibility Research Center and the Executive Director of the China Enterprise Management Ethics Forum. Professor CHAO Gang mainly focused on the research fields of corporate social responsibility, business ethics, Chinese traditional culture and contemporary corporate management practices. Professor CHAO Gang has been the PI of two national-level research projects and several provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, he has published more than 40 papers in authoritative domestic journals such as China Industrial Economics, Management Science, Journal of Management, in addition, he has been awarded the first prize of Excellent Achievements of Guangdong Social Responsibility Research Association and second prize of Guangdong Human Resources Social Security for research achievements.
