Research Center for Accounting Development (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) is a scientific research institution approved by South China University of Technology in the field fo accounting and corporate finance. The Center has 11 full-time and part-time members, including two full-time professors, four full-time associate professors, and five part-time researchers. Professor Wan Liangyong from the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology is the Director of the Center. Professor Wan Liangyong is the “National Accounting Leading Talent” granted by the Ministry of Finance, a member of the China Accounting Association, a member of the Guangdong Accounting Association, Director of the Guangdong Auditing Society, a member of the American Institute of Management Accountants (China) Management Accounting Education Expert Committee, a member of Guangdong Management Accountant Association Higher Education School, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Education, and Independent Director of a listed company. As of 2019, the research team of the Center has undertaken five NNSF and more than 10 provincial and ministerial research projects. Beyond this, the team has published more than ten papers in Management World, Nankai Management Review, Accounting Research, Financial Research, Journal of CorporateFinance and Journal of Business Ethics, etc., and won provincial and ministerial level research awards.
The Center is focusing on the following research areas: (1) enterprise investment and financing and capital operation research, including enterprise investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, capital operation of listed companies, etc.; (2) management accounting research, mainly including enterprise cost management , comprehensive budget management, performance management, salary incentives, corporate social responsibility, etc.; (3) corporate governance and investor protection research, including board construction, corporate governance mechanisms, small and medium investor protection mechanisms, etc.; (4) financial accounting and information disclosure studies, mainly including financial accounting standards, financial fraud, information disclosure of listed companies, and behavior of securities analyst.
