The Research Center for Smart City Management (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) aims to adapt to the current development trend of the information society, make full use of the scientific research advantages of SCUT in information technology, urban construction and management, and promote the development of interdisciplinary research.
As An expansion and in-depth integration application of information technology, smart city is one of the important directions for the breakthrough of the new generation of information technology, as well as an important part of developing emerging industries pertaining on global strategy. The center intends to integrate information technology and management technology to face the future, and provide comprehensive technical and management research and services centered on smart city management.
Based on the complete discipline structure, strong academic team, outstanding scientific and research competence, extensive international exchange, authoritative international accreditation and in-depth corporate cooperation capabilities, through cross-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary researches, the Center has established a set of resource optimization and sharing mechanism that is integrated industry, study and research activities and synergized resources of government, enterprise and university. It is committed to promote academic innovation, management innovation and application innovation in the development of smart city management; practice the vision of “wisdom makes the city more exciting and prosperous”; and intend to achieve refined operation in all areas of the future city and contribute to the development of intelligent development.
At present, the Center has built a domestic first-class internet platform with comprehensive, integrated and innovative scientific research services. Through strategic and professional research cooperation, and using research outcomes and theoretical innovations, it has provided the multinational companies, local enterprises, and government department with a full range of management consulting services, such as policy analysis, construction planning, talent training, and solution plan.
