The Research Center for Big Data Analytics (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) is led by Professor Zhou Yongwu and is established as a school-level research platform to conduct research activities. The Center consists of more than 20 professors, more than 50 associate professors and more than 30 lecturers. During its past operation, the Center is dedicated to implement innovational research in many areas including enterprises operation management, financial engineering, and intelligent optimization. Meanwhile, as the principle investigator, the research team of the Center have engaged in more than 100 research projects of ministry and provincial level, such as the research projects supported and sponsored by NNSF, National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program),the Supporting Program of the “Eleventh Five-year Plan” for Sci & Tech Research of China,and the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, etc. In addition, the research team has published more than 600 academic papers on domestic and international top journals.
The Center is positioned to connect the government, enterprises, and university all together to integrate the research team of the university in the field of decision science and big data analytics, thus to construct the interdisciplinary of big data, relying on the resources of the advanced disciplines of South China University of Technology, and accordingly to give a strong support to promote the technology acceleration and industry development in the research field of big data analytics and its application.
