The Greater Bay Intelligent Finance and Risk Management Research Base (hereinafter referred to as “the Base”) is established and based on the jointly strengths of Management Science and Engineering Discipline listed in the Guangdong Province Panfeng Key Discipline, Research Center for Decision Sciences and Risk Management, Financial Engineering Research Center, Research Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory for Innovative Methodology & Decision-making Management System.
The Center is led by Professor XU Weijun, and it currently has 45 academic members, including: one Distinguished Professor granted by the Changjiang Scholar Plan of the Ministry of Education, one scholar awarded the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, one national-level talent cultivated by the National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project, one scholar awarded the National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scholars, two principle investigators of the Major Project of National Social Science Foundation, two distinguished professors of Zhujiang Scholar granted by Guangdong province, seven scholars supported by MOE Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, one scholar awarded the Guangdong Province Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, 18 professors and researchers, and 23 associate professors and associate researchers.
In the research fields of financial engineering and risk management, logistics and supply chain management, the Base has carried out fruitful research activities and achieved a number of internationally high-level outcomes. In the past five years, members of the Base have obtained more than 200 scientific research projects foundations with more than 50 million RMBA yuan. Among them, there are one major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, two projects of the National Social Science Foundation, two key projects of the National Nature Science Foundation, one international cooperation research project, as well as more than 30 other research projects supported by the NNSF and NSSF. In addition, the team members have published nearly 200 academic papers that are included in international authority Index such as SCI and SSCI. Furthermore, seven research outcomes have been granted the MOE Higher Education Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences),18 research outcomes are granted the Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award. Meanwhile, the PhD candidates of the Base are cultivated to produce high quality degree dissertations, including one PhD degree dissertation is nominated the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation, and two PhD degree dissertations are nominated the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Guangdong Province. The Base also has been equipped with advanced facilities to support research activities, such as the advanced library information network system, Wind database and other data bases, etc.
