1.MDE Intern/Full-time (Shanghai,Shenzhen)
Description
Working on enclosure parts of a NPI project onsite at factory. Mainly focusing on process development, in- cluding stamping/forming, CNC, polish, blasting, ano and sub assy for enclosure parts, bridge the communi- cation between product design and manufacturing, help the vendor to do the machine/tooling/fixture quali- fication to make a robust process, solve technical issues if we have. Need to seamless work with cross func- tional team from in region and Cupertino.
Requirements
•Full time for around 3 months in 2018 (after Chinese New Year);
•Outstanding analytical capabilities;
•Excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese and English;
•Ability to work cross functionally in a dynamic environment;
•Well know the manufacturing process like stamping/forming, CNC, polish, blasting, ano and sub assy ;

2.MQE Intern/Full-time (Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen)
Description

Apple MQE is responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for materials, processes and products, solving quality engineering problems in creative and effective way.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Review Engineering Drawing.
• Metrology (MTD) study for parts measurement.
• Work with vendor on gauge and fixtures design, and drive their qualifications.
• Conduct Measurement System Analysis to manage the measurement errors.
• Collect manufacturing data and do statistic analysis, e.g. process capability study, yield study, and etc.
• Provide creative solutions for the identified engineering challenges or issues
• Collect representative production level samples and the data associated with the samples.
• Discover new technology solutions on the identified directions
• Present analysis results and reports to Apple management team
• Interfaces with other Apple functional groups as part of mechanical quality engineering team Set-ting up new reliability and failure analysis equipment
Requirements
• Has basic knowledge on quality management system structure, quality procedures, and quality tools (e.g. Mechanical Drawing, Measurement, SPC)
• Knowledge on Geometric Tolerance is preferred
• Practice or exercitation on typical mechanical mfg. processes and technologies (i.e machining, moulding, stamping, etc.)
• Has strong data analysis ability, able to utilize data analysis tools to discover the clues of inherence of data
• Experience on project management is preferred
• Published Engineering Thesis, Invention Patent holder are preferred
• Master or above, Mechanical Engineering is preferred
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good English.
• Clear communication and logical thinking

3. Product Design Engineer Intern/Full-time (Shanghai,Shenzhen)
Description
Apple is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of Apple’s Product Design Group.
The group is involved in all iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac and iPad products from early concept generation through product end of life. The engineer will be based in Shanghai or Shenzhen in China.
The right individual will likely have many years of product design and manufacturing experience and will have shipped multiple products in a lead or principle engineer role. The person will have wide technical breadth as well as technical depth in at least a few key areas listed below. We are looking for someone who is passionate about engineering and thrives on innovation.
The person should be excited to push the envelope on what is possible. We are looking for someone who has a broad range of experience that can be applied to a wide range of problems, but that also has the tech- nical capability to be able to dive deep into a problem with a group of experts.
The role will require the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with demanding schedule re- quirements across a large cross functional team. A proven ability to deliver solid design solutions while bal- ancing multiple priorities is key. Experience closely working with suppliers is important as well. The engineer in this role will be very comfortable with applying scientific method and have be able to apply or create the process through which they can solve complex problems.
Requirements
• A bachelors degree in mechanical engineering is required. MS or Phd is a plus.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical / Aerospace / Mechatronics) with relevant professional experience
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD modeling systems and workflow, UG NX preferred
• Expert knowledge of drafting best practices and the application of GD&T principles
• A thorough understanding of stress-strain relationships, static mechanics (determinate and indeterminate systems)
• A thorough understanding of kinematics and mechanism design
• A thorough understanding of metal and plastic materials science, tribology and wear principles highly de-sirable
• Engineering expertise in high volume electro-mechanical PCBA and product level fixture design, including structures, sheet metal, plastics, fixture/mechanism design, robotics, probe design, plating materials and thermal design is a plus
• A thorough understanding of standard manufacturing processes, especially machining processes
• Working knowledge of FEA (stress analysis) highly desirable, ANSYS preferred
• Working understanding of plastic part design, molded part design highly desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Project and product management experience strongly preferred
• Self-driven with the desire and ability to become an integral part of Apple’s talented, highly creative and fast paced engineering team
• Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment.
• Working knowledge of finite element analysis theory and ability to use statistical tools and techniques.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
Preferred Experience:
• Handheld/portable device experience.
• Integration of wireless antenna (GSM, GPS, Wifi) into mechanical enclosures a big plus
• Integration of electrical subsystems (display, microphone, speaker, receiver, camera)
• Unigraphics NX or Pro-engineer fluency desirable.
4. Reliability Lab Intern/Full-time (Shenzhen)

Apple’s innovative hardware reliability engineering team is looking for a talented intern for our Shenzhen Reliability Lab. This lab is home of state-of-the-art test equipment for evaluating the per- formance of new products and provides a training ground for engineers and operators in China – the focus of this team is to insure that our products exceed our customer’s expectations for robust- ness, durability, and reliability. You will support building the lab’s testing capabilities, outlining the testing methods, and focusing on the small details to make day-to-day activities run smoothly. Your success will allow us to identify and correct design issues quickly.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Setting up new reliability and failure analysis equipment
• Calibrating and maintaining the reliability equipment and facilities • Collaborating with engineers to conduct reliability tests
• Supporting failure analysis investigations
• Reporting test and failure analysis results
Requirements
• Laboratory or experimentation experience
• Familiarity with environmental chambers, microscopes, or mechanical stress testers
• Understanding of failure analysis techniques (X-Ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS, C-SAM)

5. In-Region PQM Intern/Full-time (Shenzhen)
Description

Responsible for supporting quality initiatives and NPI as well as MP activities
• Supports NPI & MP activities such as IQC/IPQC/OQC/ORT
• Applies quality and reliability concepts and participates in decision making for key quality control checkpoints within the factory
• Supports regular factory audits to identify risks to product quality by reviewing the factory proce-dures for IQC, Manufacturing, ORT, etc
• Applies statistical tools such as SPC, DOE where needed to monitor process stability and trou-bleshoot technical issues
• Owns special quality projects designed to introduce new systems or improve existing systems within our factories
• Works with the suppliers and the Apple cross-functional team as needed to execute deliverables
Requirements
• Must be pursuing either a Masters (preferred) or BS in engineering (mechanical preferred)
