报告内容摘要:

The evolution process of the creatures is very and very long, and many useful secrets and rationality

hide mostly in creatures’ structure, motion, etc. Therefore, developing robots by biomimetic approach is a useful way to achieve more efficient, high-performance and creature-like motions. The target of our research is to develop hyper dynamic robots by biomimetic approach. Following two topics will be given in this talk.

One is about the development of hyper dynamic robots inspired by animal’s structure and skill of motion control, emphasizing the utilization of dynamics and non-linear mechanisms. As case studies, golf swing robot and cat-type jumping robot will be introduced.

Another is about the development of soft robots inspired by the creatures, emphasizing the utilization of dynamics based on theinterference between the flexible robot and environment. The design method and control for the robots, as well as high performance

soft fish and flapping robots using flexible piezoelectric fiber composite (PFC) as actuators together with soft body structure will be introduced.
