SCUT Pioneers New Strategic Landscape in Education Cooperation with European Universities
In a significant move to strengthen international collaboration, Dr. Zhang Xichun, Chairman of the University Council, recently concluded a high-level European delegation visit to France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The strategic mission resulted in multiple partnership agreements with leading European institutions, marking a major step forward in SCUT's Internationalization at Home strategy and China-Europe educational cooperation.
In France, the delegation renewed student exchange agreement with Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, reinforcing a decade-long partnership, and established a new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program with Lyon Business School, creating a flagship China-French collaboration in advanced management education.
During the visit to Germany, the delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges with the Technical University of Munich on sustainable studies and signed an agreement with Technical University of Munich on student mobility programs. In addition, the visit has helped enhance SCUT’s strategic partnership with MANN+HUMMEL Group for joint R&D of next-generation eco-friendly filtration materials
In the UK, the delegation conducted high-level discussions with Imperial College London to establish a multidisciplinary energy research institute, signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with University of Leeds and Queen Mary University of London, and held successful talent recruitment sessions endorsed by Chinese Embassy officials
This European tour has not only consolidated our existing partnerships but also created new platforms for collaborative innovation, said Dr. Zhang. These strategic alliances will significantly enhance our capabilities in talent development and cutting-edge research.
The visit demonstrates SCUT's commitment to building a global network of excellence and positions the university as a key bridge for China-Europe academic and technological exchanges.
