UK RAE Fellow Professor Sai Gu Visits SCUT
On March 9, Professor Sai Gu, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (East and South East Asia) of the University of Warwick, visited SCUT. Vice President LI Weiqing met with GU at the Guangzhou International Campus (GZIC) and held productive discussions with the guest.
During the meeting, Vice President LI Weiqing extended a warm welcome to Professor GU and elaborated on SCUT's education philosophy, particularly the achievements of GZIC. She applauded University of Warwick for its outstanding scholarly accomplishments, particularly in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace engineering, and sustainable energy. SCUT looks forward to win-win collaborations with Warwick in talent cultivation, faculty exchanges, and joint research, and welcomes Warwick students to participate in SCUT Emerging Engineering International Summer School 2025.
Professor GU expressed gratitude for the hospitality of SCUT and emphasized the strong potential for collaboration between the two institutions. The two parties agree upon their high compatibility in disciplines such as engineering, materials science, and computer science, and propose to integrate UK faculty resources to advance joint degree programs, collaborative research, and international conferences.
GZIC is going to take the role of a pioneer in international education reform within the Greater Bay Area to facilitate the landing of outstanding UK scholars and innovation projects in the region.
