Representatives from the Department of Cooperation and Exchanges of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province accompanied the delegation. Xu Xiangmin, Vice President of SCUT, met with the guests at the Guangzhou International Campus (GZIC).
Meeting
Xu Xiangmin welcomed the guests on behalf of SCUT and expressed gratitude for the strong support from the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Guangdong Province for the construction of GZIC. He briefly introduced SCUT's development, particularly highlighting the effectiveness of the Internationalization at Home approach at GZIC, as well as recent cooperation and exchanges with universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Rooted in and serving the GBA in the long run, SCUT has seized the opportunity of GZIC as a pilot case for international education reform in the GBA to fully leverage the advantages of geographical, academic, and personal connections with universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, continuously making new progress in talent cultivation, curriculum co-construction, scientific research cooperation, industry-academia-research cooperation, as well as faculty and student exchanges. In the next step, SCUT will continue to expand cooperation with partner universities and deepen cooperation areas to jointly promote the integrated development of the GBA.
Liu Xiaoyi appreciated SCUT's development and its role in integrating itself into the overall development of the GBA. He hoped that SCUT would further deepen its high-level cooperation with universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, achieve more remarkable results in education cooperation, platform establishment, scientific and technological innovation, faculty and student exchanges, and jointly support the high-quality development of higher education in the GBA.
During the visit, Liu Xiaoyi and his delegation visited the School of Future Technology and other venues. Relevant representatives from the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, the Office of Administration of GZIC, the Office of Teaching Affairs of GZIC, and the Office of Global Affairs of GZIC, participated in the events.
