Meeting

On behalf of SCUT, Vice President Li Weiqing expressed gratitude to the CEAIE for its continuous support in international exchange and cooperation efforts. She provided an overview of SCUT’s recent developments and highlighted the progress of the "Internationalization at Home" model at GZIC. Adhering to the commitment to exclusiveness and excellence, taking advantage of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as the pilot case of international educational reform, GZIC actively explores the schooling model of "Internationalization at Home". By introducing global high-quality educational resources, GZIC aims to provide students with an internationally comparable educational environment, and expands its global network of partners, promoting the "Two-Way Approach to Internationalization" for high-quality development, laying the foundation for establishing a world-class university rooted in China. Vice President Li looks forward to further collaboration with the CEAIE, expanding international exchange channels, and enhancing the overall quality and level of internationalization.

Deputy Secretary-General Fu Bo highly praised the effectiveness of the "Internationalization at Home" model at GZIC. She noted that SCUT deeply implements the Chinese President Xi Jinping's keynote address on education, effectively managing both "bringing in" and "going global" strategies. Making the most of the world-class educational resources and innovative impetus, SCUT boldly explores the new schooling model of "Internationalization at home", providing fresh perspectives for the reform of the internationalization of China’s higher education in the new era. Deputy Secretary-General Fu hope that SCUT will continue leveraging the unique geographical advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to continuously introduce high-quality educational resources, enhance international exchanges and cooperation, actively participate in global education governance, which will build SCUT as a future-oriented international talent pool and education hub to contribute to strengthening China's education.

During the visit, Deputy Secretary-General Fu Bo and her delegation toured various facilities, including the School of Emergent Soft Matter, the School of Future Technology, the Innovation Factory, and the One-Stop Student Community.
