Delegation from Russian Technological University Visits SCUT
On May 11th, Solunova Irina, Deputy First Vice Rector of Russian Technological University, led a delegation to visit the Guangzhou International Campus (GZIC) of South China University of Technology (SCUT). Attendees included relevant Directors of Office of Global Affairs, GZIC and Deputy Dean of School of International Education.
Meeting
The Director of Office of Global Affairs, GZIC welcomed Solunova Irina and her delegation, and introduced her to the hundred-year history of SCUT and recent developments. Emphasis was placed on the progress of the development of emerging engineering education and the advantages of the “Internationalization at Home” Model. He expressed the hope for strengthening exchange and cooperation with Russian Technological University in the areas such as joint student training and academic research. He also welcomed the outstanding Russian youths to exchange or study further at GZIC.
Solunova Irina expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised the achievements of GZIC in terms of campus infrastructure, laboratory construction, and interdisciplinary talent training. She mentioned that Russian students aspire to exchange and study at SCUT and hoped that this visit would serve as a starting point for enhanced cultural and academic exchange between the two universities.

Solunova Irina and her delegation also toured the School of Emergent Soft Matter and the Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering at GZIC.
It is noteworthy that the Russian Technological University was founded in 1921, with its predecessor being the Moscow Power Engineering College. Its key disciplines include electronic information, electronic engineering, information technology and information security. Currently, there are 27,397 students, with 70% of them being undergraduate students.
