SCUT rises up to the top 300 in the 2021 US News & World Report rankings
The Best Global University Ranking of SCUT
South China University of Technology (SCUT) has continued to improve in the 2021 Best Global University Rankings released by US News & World Report on October 20th. In the latest rankings, SCUT jumped 46 spots from last year to 290th in the list, ranking at No. 15th among Chinese mainland universities.
In addition, SCUT has seen 15 subjects entering US News’s subject rankings, among which 11 subjects landed in the top 100 worldwide, with Agricultural Sciences, Chemical Engineering and Energy & Fuels joining the world’s top 10.
The Subject Rankings of SCUT
The US News Best Global University Rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and the QS World University Rankings are recognized as the four most influential university rankings in the world. Since 2014, US News has published the global best university rankings and subject rankings, focusing on the academic research level and reputation of the universities, taking 13 key indicators, including research reputation, publications, books, normalized citation impact, number of highly cited papers, international collaboration etc., to measure the comprehensive strength of the universities. In the 2021 Global Best University Rankings, a total of 1,748 universities in 86 countries and regions are on the list, and there are 12,746 universities on the list of the world rankings of 38 subjects.
