SCUT’s Achievments of Fighting against COVID-19 Was Reported by CCTV
On February 16th, a special program titled “Fight against the epidemic of COVID-19” by CCTV broadcasted the strict epidemic prevention measures taken by SCUT and other universities, such as taking various forms of preventions from epidemic at campus, making different arrangements for disease control for safeguarding students’ health and safety in advance.

In the interview by the CCTV, Tao Shaojing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, the leader of the Epidemic Prevention Working Group of COVID-19, stressed that in order to get a thorough acquaintance of the health information from all students every day, SCUT has developed an information collection system called “I am OK”, through which the students can report their real-time health status, and the university can get the updated situations of the students.
As for the students who remained at campus, the university has taken a series of measures, including strict registration, management and supervision, and admitting for less stepping out of the campus as far as possible. For those students who have left school, the university did not allow them to come back in advance before an official notice is issued. Meanwhile, the university provided humanistic concerns, for example, keeping close contact with students and offering psychological health counseling for students online by counselors.

So far, the university has announced to delay the date for school opening and geared up for online teaching accordingly. In the meantime, all the offline preventions and control works are in smooth order and well arranged. After the epidemic gets eased, our university will organize students to come back in batches and stages, in the same time, measures like intensive sterilization, space separation, self-provided tableware, teaching on small scale and less outgoing will be taken to guarantee the safety of the campus.
