SCUT ranks top 50 in the THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020
The Times Higher Education (THE) released its Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020 on February 19th, with 533 institutions from 47 countries and regions on the list, including 81 from the Chinese mainland. South China University of Technology (SCUT)ranks among the top 50 places in the global emerging economies universities for two consecutive years, and ranks 18th among universities of the Chinese mainland.
The THE Emerging Economies University Rankings judges institutions on their teaching (academic environment) (30%), research (output, revenue and reputation) (30%), paper citation (research impact) (20%), internationalization (faculty, students and research) (10%), and industry revenue (knowledge transfer) (10%). SCUT performs quite well this year, ranking 13th in paper citation and 14th in industry revenue among universities of the Chinese mainland, which indicated that with the further construction of “Double-First Class” university, SCUT makes a prominent enhancement in the output of high-quality paper and the capacity for the commercialization of science and technological achievements.
