On October 29, Dr. BIAN Fenggang, researcher of Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited our institute and gave a presentation on “Synchronous radiation experiment method and its application in material science” with an emphatical introduction of the application of X-ray small Angle scattering techniques.

Dr. BIAN Fenggang visited our institute and gave a presentation on “Synchronous radiation experiment method and its application in material science”
Dr. BIAN Fenggang said that X-ray small Angle scattering is an important technology to analyze the information of the nanostructure inside the substance. Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility attaches great importance to the development of X-ray small Angle scattering line station. Currently, two line stations are open to users. One USAXS line station is under construction, and another SAXS line station is planned to be built.

Later on, he introduced resent status of the running BL16B and BL19U2 line station on equipment, performance, operation, opening up, the development of experimental methods and the under-construction USAXS and rare element analysis line station. He also stated the recent development plan of SAXS line station of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility, which is built mainly for Sinopec industry line station and high-throughput full size characterization of polymer processing platform construction, etc.

Thereupon, the institute for soft materials will cooperate with Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility, that is, Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility of Shanghai light source will build a sample environment that matches the in-situ characterization of soft material on the SAXS line station, providing real-time dynamic information for the structural evolution of multiple spatial scales of soft material.
