Big Data Comprehensive Laboratory

The Big Data Comprehensive Laboratory, a demonstration benchmark training facility built by Baidu for universities in South China, integrates computing resources, curriculum resources, experimental and practical training project resources, dataset resources, virtualization and container technologies. The lab leverages powerful computational capabilities, built upon Baidu's training platform with high-quality course resources at its core. Combined with teaching and training tools, it meets faculty and students' requirements for AI and Big Data instruction and practical training. It establishes an integrated curriculum-lab-platform-service framework to deliver personalized teaching. Faculty can rapidly deploy a teaching, training, and examination environment unrestricted by time or location, fulfilling undergraduate teaching needs in Big Data and AI while ensuring smooth experimental instruction.

The laboratory is equipped with a one-stop teaching and training platform featuring extensive educational resources, including Python fundamentals, deep learning, computer vision and applications, convolutional neural networks, and recurrent neural networks. It comes preloaded with massive open datasets from real-world business scenarios, encompassing multi-scenario transportation datasets, large-scale natural language processing and knowledge graph datasets, as well as video and OCR business datasets. With the rapid advancement of Big Data science, education must shift from basic knowledge acquisition to the fostering of creativity and intelligent thinking. By supporting participation in major competitions, our laboratory enables students to learn through dynamic interaction and real-world challenges. This approach fosters a spirit of innovation, practical application, and continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to the acceleration of educational modernization.
