Sep. 6th, 2012, volunteers from School of Light Industry and Food Science welcomed the new students at the south campus stadium of SCUT. Early in the morning, the volunteers had started setting up the sites and preparing flyer. The new students welcome activities were formally started at 2:30 PM. When the excited freshmen entered the stadium, the heartily volunteering helped them go through the registering process, and answered all kinds of questions. Xiaoling Zhang, the vices secretary of the party committee of School of light industry and food science, also presented and answered questions from the new students. Outside of the stadium, it can be easily found that the volunteers were helping the new students taking luggage or taking them to their dorms.
