In this talk, I am going to summarize ourrecent progresses towards design of efficient oxygen electrocatalysts forvarious electrochemical energy conversion and storage applications. The designstrategies include: 1. How to experimentally determine binding strength ofreactive intermediates. 2. How to tune binding strength of reactive intermediatesby surface engineering. 3. How to break the scaling relationship.
报告人简介：
Bin Liu received his bachelor of engineering (1st Class Honours) and master ofengineering degrees at the National University of Singapore, Singapore in 2002and 2004, respectively, and completed his doctoral degree at the University ofMinnesota, USA in 2011. After spending a year as postdoctoral fellow in theUniversity of California Berkeley, USA, he joined School of Chemical andBiomedical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University as an AssistantProfessor in June 2012 and was promoted to Associate Professor in March 2017.In February 2023, Professor Liu joined the Department of Materials Science andEngineering at City University of Hong Kong as a Global STEM Professor. Hisresearch focuses on photo(electro)catalysis and in-situ/operandocharacterization. Professor Liu was awarded emerging investigator by Journal ofMaterials Chemistry A, Royal Society of Chemistry in 2016, class of influentialresearchers by Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, AmericanChemical Society in 2018, and listed in the “Highly Cited Researchers” inCross-Field in 2019 and Chemistry in 2020-2024 by Clarivate Analytics.
