Polar bear is cute and the world's largest land carnivore,.Even though the body fat accounts for about 25% of their total weight, polar bear rarely have cardiovascular disease. What is the reason for this? The mysteries were revealed in a paper of Liu Shiping the student of south China university of technology (SCUT) as the first author published on international top journal Cell as cover story on May 8th, 2014.The research results is a Gospel for the "foodies": one day in the future , even if those whoeat meat every meal the same as the polar bearand are fat as polar bear, they would not  need to worry about the trouble of cardiovascular diseases.

       The paper entitled "Population Genomics pass Reveal Recent Speciation and Rapid Evolutionary Adaptation in Polar Bears"  was published on Cell as cover story with high level research achievement . 

       Liu Shiping , the first author of the paper， is the Ph.D.  candidate of the school of biological science and engineering, grade 2012, major in genetics He Weiping, the master candidate of the school of biological science and engineering, grade 2010, major in biochemistry and molecular biology, as the byliner. The research was accomplished coopereatively by  South China university of technology as the second affiliation, ,institute of Shenzhen BGI, University of California, University of Copenhagen and others.Both students are members of "genome science innovation class". "This paper is a  landmark", the school of life science innovation of SCUT and institute of shenzhen BGI said "it is not only marked the students of genome science innovation class published the article on the cover story of Cell for the first time, but also marked the  students of SCUT achieved the zero breakthrough in publishing paper on top international academic journal as first author rather than as co-first author. "
