With the development of economics and commerce management in South China University of Technology, School of Economics and Commerce was founded in 2004, with both the national 211 and 985 quality marks. It is located in Higher Education Mega Center Campus, Xiaoguwei Island and embraced by tranquil and harmonious environment.

Equipped with international experience of higher education, SEC advocates the integration of liberal arts education and professional education, and seeks to provide students with wide range of knowledge, solid academics training of modern Finance, Economics and Management, capacities in analyzing, organizing, creating, leadership, as well as strong sense of social responsibilities.

SEC has 7 academic departments in finance, economics, international economics and trade, tourism and hospitality management, logistics, e-commerce and exhibition management. SEC offers diversified programs in finance, economics and management for bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. It also provides professional programs such as Master of Engineering for Logistics Engineering major, Master of Engineering for Project management, and Master of Finance.

SEC currently has 142 full-time faculty members and continuously strives for academic excellence. The faculty members carry out rigorous and original research with particular focus on China’s ongoing financial, economic and managerial development by publishing in first tier international and national research journals. Xiaoguwei Financial Forum, Lingnan Economic Forum and Sino-US Tourism Development Forum are SEC’s brand academic activities. SEC has eight research institutes and centers, providing strong backup for the development of SEC.
