To broaden students’ professional horizons and deepen their understanding of cutting-edge technologies, the Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering, together with Mingcheng College, recently organized a visit to XPeng Motors for party members and student representatives. Through an immersive experience, students got an up-close look at innovations in AI-powered driving and flying cars, gaining a fresh perspective on smart manufacturing and the future of mobility.

Behind the Scenes: An Immersive Taste of Smart Mobility
Guided by XPeng staff, students toured the headquarters' exhibition hall, the AI Mobility Experience Center, and the HT Flying Car flagship showroom. In one stop, they learned about XPeng's journey, company culture, AI driving technologies, and global expansion. The immersive tech space, built around AI-driven mobility, featured highlights like a futuristic robot stage show, a mini display of the AI car family showcasing fully self-developed smart manufacturing, and a dynamic sandbox model that simulated the entire design-to-production process. An AI tech tree installation and a Turing chip art piece added a striking blend of technology and creativity.

Engaging with Industry: Gaining Clarity on Career Paths
Next, students entered the HT Flying Car flagship showroom. The vision of future travel—from ground to sky, the seamless integration of air and road mobility, and the fully self-developed flying car technology left everyone amazed.Personal flight, long-distance commuting, and three-dimensional transport—once distant dreams—are gradually becoming reality through XPeng's exploration. Many students exclaimed, Flying is no longer far-fetched; the future is within reach. Rapid industry progress, they realized, relies on collaboration across innovation, engineering, and commercialization.
A company representative then shared insights on XPeng's development, industry trends, job requirements, and career growth paths, using real-world examples to illustrate what young talent needs to succeed in smart vehicles. Students actively asked questions about academic learning, skill-building, and career planning, sparking a lively and practical discussion.
This face-to-face exchange not only clarified how companies operate and where the industry is headed, but also highlighted the importance of bridging classroom knowledge with real-world needs. Many students said the visit broadened their perspectives and strengthened their resolve to align their studies with industry demands while sharpening their overall capabilities.

Learning Through Action: University-Industry Collaboration to Expand Horizons
This visit is a key step in the school's efforts to guide graduate students into the industry, help them understand enterprises, and enhance practical awareness. By stepping into XPeng Motors, students truly felt the vibrant pulse of industrial transformation driven by tech innovation, and gained a clearer sense of direction for their future studies and careers. Going forward, the school will continue building high-quality platforms for university-industry exchange, deepening collaboration to help students expand their horizons, gain knowledge, and build skills—empowering the next generation of well-rounded talent with innovative thinking, practical ability, and social responsibility.
