SHIEN-MING WU School of Intelligent Engineering is one of the first three schools in the international campus in South China University of Technology. The school is named after the world-renowned scholar, the late Professor of University of Michigan and the former director of US National Manufacturing Research Center, Prof. Shien-Ming Wu. Prof. Wu is the first who applies intelligent engineering in manufacturing. He is also a great teacher with over 100 Ph.D. students, many of whom are leaders in their field now around the world.

Facing towards the change of Chinese manufacturing industry, the school would seize the development opportunities of Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Bay that provides a joint platform for cutting-edge science and engineering research, carry out basic frontier science and technology research around emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent healthcare, intelligent cities, intelligent devices, etc.
