On December 24, 2025, the Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering at South China University of Technology successfully held its Overseas Scholars Huayuan Journey sub-forum at the Guangzhou International Campus. The event was hosted by Dean of the School, AcademicianChen Xiaoqi, and was also attended by Executive Dean Yu Zhuliang and Vice Dean Xu Dabo.Yin Panchao, Director of the Human Resources and Development Affairs Office for the Guangzhou International Campus, was invited to provide a detailed overview of the university's talent recruitment policies for the young scholars present. The forum attracted several outstanding young scholars from around theworld for academic exchange.

Academician Chen Xiaoqi Introduces the School
Academician Chen Xiaoqi gave a comprehensive introduction tothe School's current state of development, covering its faculty structure,research layout, and disciplinary platforms. He extended a warm invitation tothe attending scholars, encouraging them to consider applying for talent programs through South China University of Technology and to join the Shien-Ming Wu School in its mission for future growth.

Yin Panchao Introduces the Campus
Yin Panchao elaborated on the construction progress and supporting policies of the Guangzhou International Campus. Drawing from his own research experiences, he shared practical insights on topics such as building aresearch team and securing start-up funding after joining the university,offering valuable advice to the young scholars.

Young Scholars Present Their Work
In the second half of the forum, twelve outstanding young overseas scholars were invited to give academic presentations on theirrespective research journeys and representative achievements. These sessions were followed by in-depth exchanges and discussions with the attending expertsand fellow young scholars.

Faculty Representatives Share Experiences
Subsequently, young faculty representatives from the School,Professor Lu Shaofeng and Associate Professor Xiao Sinan, shared their practical experiences in applying for talent programs and research grants,based on their own career development. Professors Zhong Yong and Zhang Yuanfang also led the visiting scholars on a tour of the School's research platforms and laboratories, further showcasing the School's robust facilities and academic environment.
Talent recruitment and development is a core strategic priority for the School. In recent years, the School has placed high importance onbuilding a high-level faculty team through systematic planning and the involvement of all its members, continuously strengthening its recruit mentefforts. In 2025, the School convened nine meetings of its Party and Administrative Joint Committee specifically to discuss talent work, designating Talent Recruitment and Faculty Team Development as a key annual objective. School leaders have frequently led delegations to renowned universities and enterprises both domestically and internationally to promote the School and expand recruitment channels. Concurrently, the School has established and refined internal incentive systems to encourage all faculty andstaff to recommend talented individuals, fostering a positive environment where talent attracts talent.
Looking ahead, the School will continue to implement the university's strategic plans for talent development. By focusing on the recruitment and cultivation of high-level personnel and continuously optimizing the environment for talent growth, the School strives to build a first-classteaching and research faculty with international competitiveness. This will provide robust support for the university's Double First-Class initiative and for fostering innovation and development in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
