On 23 August, the results of the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project review were officially announced, and Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering was newly approved 9 NSFC projects, with an approved contract amount of RMB 3.08 million yuan, including 2 General Program projects and 7 Young Scientists Fund projects, of which the approval rate of the Young Scientists Fund projects was 64%, and the overall approval rate reached 36%, which was a record high. In recent years, the school has undertaken a total of 23 national natural projects of various types, with a total contract amount of RMB 8,281,900 yuan, the rate of project approval and the amount of approved contracts steadily increased year by year.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is one of the key indicators for measuring disciplinary standards and research capabilities, playing a significant role in discipline construction, talent cultivation, and external cooperation and exchange within academic institutions. The School prioritizes the application process for the NSFC by organizing fund application mobilization meetings and seminars for young teachers, holding expert tutorials and lectures, inviting experts to share application experiences, and providing one-on-one guidance and written evaluations.
