Design Expo of New Emerging Engineering

       2020年1月4日下午,华南理工大学吴贤铭智能工程学院 Design Expo 如约而至。届时来自《工程导论》课程的所有设计作品都将参加展示。
        另外,在活动当天上午的9点到12点,我们会有针对该课程的全英文答辩,地点在国际校区D1-b大堂,欢迎各位嘉宾莅临参观!



课程介绍:《工程导论》
       作为广州国际校区的首批新工科学院,吴贤铭智能工程学院在传承和发扬华南理工大学优良学风的基础上,引入密西根大学的先进教育理念和方法,为学生提供坚实的素质教育、前沿的科学研究。

       学院《工程导论》课程的开设,也是对华南理工大学新工科人才培养理念的一次大胆的创新和探索。在大众的认知里,传统意义上的工科教育都是在前序课程和理论基础完备的情况下才开设的实践环节,而吴贤铭智能工程学院的《工程导论》课程,做为新工科学科教育的代表,响应智能时代的号召,突破传统理念的束缚,致力于创新创业实践!

       为打造全方位、服务型科研教育环境,学院首创“导生制”,即导师主导课堂内学习型实践,研究生“导生”负责课堂外的练习型实践。从理论学习和动手实践两方面为这些还暂无任何工程基础的“高中生”保驾护航。学生从第一学期始就进入深度模拟实践,通过竞赛考核机制不断提升实践难度,激发学生科研潜力。学院开设《工程导论》课程,旨在充分挖掘学生的创新创造力、领导力以及团队合作能力,培养学生对智能工程学科的兴趣,树立学生对于科学研究的信心,坚定学生“以智能工程之力改变世界”的决心。

       《工程导论》是工科学生向合格工程师迈进的第一步,《工程导论》课程理论与实践并重,技术与技术交流相结合。课程依据现实世界中工程项目的运作方式而设计,着重培养的是团队合作、沟通与交流,以及创造力等能力,是吴贤铭智能工程学院在华南理工大学针对“创新导向教育”和“在地国际化”办学理念的重要实践。

课程的主要环节包括:

Vg100 Introduction to Engineering

As the first batch of new engineering schools on the Guangzhou International Campus,Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering introduced the advanced education concepts and methods of the University of Michigan on the basis of inheriting and carrying forward the excellent academic style of South China University of Technology,providing students with solid quality education and cutting-edge research.

The opening of the course Introduction to Engineering  is also a bold innovation and exploration of the concept of new engineering talent training in South China University of Technology. In the public's perception, engineering education must be opened only when the preface curriculum and theoretical foundation are complete. The course Introduction to Engineering by Shien-Ming Wu School of Intelligent Engineering is used as a new engineering science education, which is the representative and response to the call of the intelligent era, breaking through the shackles of traditional ideas, and committed to the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship!

Vg100  Introduction to Engineering is an engineering student’s first taste of what it is to be a practicing engineer! 

The  course is designed to simulate a real world engineering environment where teamwork, communication, and creativity are the keys to success.  Each section of this course introduces you to:

  • technical problem solving and  the creative engineering design process

  • preparation of written technical reports and oral presentations to communicate your great ideas to a broad audience

  • teamwork and team management

  • the influence of the engineer  on society

  • professional responsibility

  • sustainable engineering

  • decision-making skills
