Persistence is the key to development and glory. In order to meet the requirement of the development of our university, School of Physical Education was founded in January, 2006. There are 3 departments, one venue center, one health management center and a research base for Guangdong sports industry in the school.

Since its foundation, the school has brought into play the enormous advantages of running interdisciplinary and important university to the largest extent on the basis of the education resources of our university, regarding the public teaching and learning and students’ health as the essential starting point, focusing on competitive physical education, looking upon disciplinary construction as a breakthrough, striving for the cultivation of doctoral candidates and sticking to the path characterized by physical education of South China University of Technology.

The school began to enroll undergraduates majoring in sports training in 2007, was granted the authorization of master degree in physical education in 2011 and master of physical education in 2014 respectively. It took us just a few years to be accredited with both bachelor and master programs and step on the road of speedy development. The curriculum ofCollege Sports is recognized as the first provincial elaborate course in physical education of Guangdong Provincial universities and colleges. In addition, School of Physical Education was awarded National Sunshine Sports Advanced Unit. We have achieved breakthroughs in National Social Science Fund Research Project, Ministerial and Provincial Scientific Research Achievements and Education Ministry’s New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan.

In the past ten years,we have adhered to the connotation development path, staying ahead of sports teaching and reform and competitive sports in China, providing specialized know-how on sports to students. The faculty of School of Physical Education aims to unite as one to create greater glories, and make our contribution to the construction of “double first-rate”.
