Introduction to the speaker:
LIN Bingxuan is currently a Professor of Finance at the University of Rhode Island and holds the William Egan Chair in Finance. He obtained his Ph.D. in Finance from Georgia State University. His research areas primarily include corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, information disclosure, Chinese capital markets, and behavioral finance. He has published over 50 papers in top-tier academic journals, such as the British Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, as well as Chinese journals like Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management Science, Journal of Financial Research, and Journal of Accounting Research. Professor Lin is currently a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and the China Journal of Accounting Research.

We explore the multifaceted challenges of publishing in accounting and finance, such as the increasing demand for rigorous empirical evidence, the influence of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain, and the pressure to address contemporary issues like sustainability and corporate governance. By examining current trends and successful strategies employed by researchers, this seminar aims to provide valuable insights for academics and practitioners seeking to contribute meaningfully to the literature.
