Personal Profile

Dr. Xu Xuemiao is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at South China University of Technology, and the vice dean of Junde College at the Guangzhou International Campus of South China University of Technology. Key scientific researchers from the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Architecture Science - Research Direction of Smart Cities in the Greater Bay Area, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Laboratory of Big Data and Robot Intelligence of the Ministry of Education, and the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Computational Intelligence and Cyberspace Information. Member of multiple special committees of the Computer Vision Society of the China Computer Federation, the Multimedia Intelligence Society of the Image and Graphics Society, and the Graphics Big Data Society of the Graphics Society.

Professor Xu has published over 60 papers in international important journals and conferences in fields such as artificial intelligence, vision, and graphics in recent years. Among them, there are 42 SCI papers, 1 ESI highly cited paper, 18 SCI Zone 1 papers, and 9 papers in top conferences. He has applied for 20 invention patents and obtained 9 of them. He has presided over two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and six major projects of Guangdong Province. The industrial output value has exceeded 800 million yuan. He has won one second prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2021 (as the first contributor) and one second prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Highway Society. Led the postgraduate team to participate in the 'Digital Human Body' AI Challenge and Visual Challenge hosted by Alibaba Cloud and won two national championships. Also won the national championship in the 'Digital China Innovation Competition' - Intelligent Inventory, and the third place in the 'National Artificial Intelligence Competition' (Pedestrian Re-identification).'
