Personal Profile

Xu Yong, a doctoral supervisor, is a senior member of IEEE and ACM, a distinguished member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), and the chairperson of the CCF Guangzhou Branch. He is also the director of the Guangdong Engineering Research Center for Big Data Analysis and Processing. He is a teaching master of the 'Guangdong Special Support Program', a provincial-level training target of the 'Thousand, Hundred, Ten' Program in Guangdong Province, and the leader of the 'Visual and Service Computing' academic team at South China University of Technology. His main research interests include artificial intelligence, big data, computational machine vision, pattern recognition, and image processing. In recent years, he has published 161 research papers, including 35 papers in JCR Zone 1 and 27 papers in CCF-A conferences. He has won the second prize of the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019 (ranked first) and 2005, the first prize of the Guangdong Computer Society Science and Technology Award in 2018 and 2015 (ranked first), and two first prizes of the Guangdong Computer Society Excellent Paper Award in 2016 (ranked first). He has also won the Gold Award in the Industry Challenge Track of the 7th China International 'Internet+' College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (first mentor) and the Gold Award in the International Track of the 6th China International 'Internet+' College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (first mentor).
