Xing Jiang received his BS from Peking University in 2010, and PhD from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2016. Following a postdoctoral career at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), he started his independent research at South China University of Technology in 2021.
Prof. Jiang’s research focus is on the synthesis and characterization of functional organic and polymeric materials contained carbon-carbon triple bonds. His research group aims to design new alkyne metathesis catalysts with high reactivity and stability, and to employ such catalysts in the synthesis of alkyne-containing macrocycles and polymers. Supramolecular properties of macrocycles (host-guest chemistry, pi-pi staking) and polymers (folding) are also explored.
