Biography

  • Xing Jiang received his BS from Peking University in 2010, and PhD from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2016. Following a postdoctoral career at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), he started his independent research at South China University of Technology in 2021.

Research Interests

  • Prof. Jiang’s research focus is on the synthesis and characterization of functional organic and polymeric materials contained carbon-carbon triple bonds. His research group aims to design new alkyne metathesis catalysts with high reactivity and stability, and to employ such catalysts in the synthesis of alkyne-containing macrocycles and polymers. Supramolecular properties of macrocycles (host-guest chemistry, pi-pi staking) and polymers (folding) are also explored.

Awards & Honors

2017-2020
Beckman Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship, UIUC

2015
Dissertation Year Fellowship, UCLA
