Dr. Huang received his BSc and PhD in Chemistry from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and he carried out his postdoctoral research at Stockholm University. In 2019, he was appointed as a researcher and group leader at Stockholm University. In 2021, he was promoted to a permanent researcher position at Stockholm University. In 2023, he joined South China University of Technology as a Professor of Chemistry. During Dr. Huang’s career, he has published over 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals (Nat. Mater.(2), Nat. Chem.(1), Nat. Energy(1), Nat. Protoc.(1), Nat. Commun.(2), J. Am. Chem. Soc.(18), Angew. Chem.(4)) with a total citations over 5800 and H-index of 37. He is being recognized on the international level, giving over 20 invited talks, and chairing 2 sessions at international conferences.
Dr. Huang’s research interests have been in developing and implementing electron diffraction methods to study functional materials at atomic levels, focusing on understanding structure–property relationships, discovery of novel materials, and gaining new fundamental knowledges. In addition, he has been interested in developing novel nanoporous materials with guidance of structure–property relationships, in view of their applications in renewable energy, and air/water remediation, etc.
